Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Phiny collects when you use our website and app, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. We keep it in plain language on purpose.
Last updated: September 21, 2026.
“Phiny”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Global Apps Inc, the operator of phiny.ai and app.phiny.ai. By using Phiny you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Information we collect
- Account information — your name, email address and mobile number when you register.
- Profile & resume data — resumes you upload and the details parsed from them (education, experience, skills, contact details) so we can tailor practice and guides.
- Interview & usage data — your answers in mock interviews (typed and, for voice interviews, audio), the feedback generated, and how you use features.
- Payment & billing data — for paid subscriptions we collect your billing name and address (required by RBI/payment rules for recurring UPI mandates). Card, UPI and bank details are entered directly with our payment processor — Phiny never sees or stores your full card number, UPI PIN or bank credentials.
- Technical data — device, browser, IP address and basic analytics collected through our infrastructure and privacy-respecting analytics (e.g. Cloudflare).
How we use your information
- To provide the service — run mock interviews, generate feedback, build and optimise resumes, and produce personalised guidance.
- To process payments, manage subscriptions and send billing and account notices.
- To operate, secure, debug and improve the product.
- To send you service-related communications. Marketing messages are only sent where permitted, and you can opt out at any time.
We do not sell your personal data.
Who we share it with
We share data only with service providers that help us run Phiny, under contract and only for the purposes below:
- Payments — Razorpay, to process subscription payments and recurring mandates.
- AI processing — large-language-model and speech providers, to generate interview questions, transcribe voice answers and produce feedback.
- Cloud infrastructure & email — hosting, storage and transactional email providers (e.g. AWS, Cloudflare) that run the service.
- Legal — where required by law, regulation or valid legal process.
Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and meet legal, tax and accounting obligations. You can ask us to delete your account and associated personal data (see below); some records may be retained where the law requires.
Security
We use industry-standard measures — encryption in transit, access controls and secrets management — to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond promptly to any incident.
Your rights & choices
You can access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and withdraw consent, by emailing [email protected]. We handle requests in line with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable law.
Children
Phiny is intended for students and professionals aged 18 and above (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
International transfers
Phiny operates internationally and uses infrastructure that may store or process data outside your country. We take steps to ensure your data remains protected wherever it is processed.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above and, where appropriate, a notice in the app.
